Elliot Charette

I am a PhD student studying applied economics at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. I am a research assistant at the Center for Indian Country Development at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. I previously served as a staff economist at the Council of Economic Advisers from June 2021 until May 2022. I covered issues related to international trade and macroeconomics.

I am a trained economist in causal inference and micro-econometrics. My current research utilizes phone mobility data (Advan Patterns and SafeGraph Spend) to identify business activity spillovers from American Indian casinos to off-reservation businesses. This research relies heavily on the latest difference-in-difference innovations. I do have experience running time series models, such as ARIMA and VAR.

I code primarily in R and Stata. I have previous work experience using SAS and SPSS.
